Learning Mathematics Through
Understanding
~ Not Rules ~
Learning Mathematics through using theory, logic and visual demonstrations
to help you understand what you are doing.
Many Mathematical resources support a methodology based on learning rules. This site endeavours to teach Mathematics though understanding the theory and concepts behind the processes.
G’Day!
My name is AusMagoo and I’m a retired Australian Maths teacher. Why the name AusMagoo? One day, while walking to a classroom, I was watching a student doing cartwheels in the courtyard and not watching where I was going and walked straight into a pole.
My students saw me and once they stopped laughing, started calling me Mr. Magoo after the blind, bumbling cartoon character, especially given my surname has a similar sound to it.
Why AusMagoo? Because I’m an Aussie of course!
